It starts with quality hides

As our largest hide supplier said of us, we've never bitched about price, only about quality. And quality is the reason we only buy leather grown and tanned in North America, Europe and Scandinavia. We will NEVER use Third World leather for a number of reasons, among them human rights violations, horrific, cruel and brutal slaughter practices, ecological pollution and destruction, and the hides just bring of plain poorer quality.

We've sunk a lot of money into our equipment

We're true professionals. We've invested heavily in the things we use to make our products be so good. We can cut heavier hides, and soft, thin, stretchy ones like lambskin, to a precise perfection unmatched by any other methods. No other maker can touch us! That's correct; we don't use garment-sewing rotary cutters and straight edge rulers, box cutters or scissors. We aren't "Amateur Hour" here. We make our floggers, whips and other gear for our livings.

We took delivery of our new, Italian Atom SE 25 ton clicker press on Lezlie's birthday, and we have new, razor-sharp, heavy forged steel dies with which we precision cut our flogger tails. Our dies were engineered and built by the same Canadian company supplying Nike and New Balance - and they really know the right way to cut leather!

We have a large, new inventory of hides in stock, and we've been getting some brand new and unusual ones! From heavy latigo to tissue-thin Mendocino sheep, and everything in between. Our expert suppliers and their representatives know every exacting quality and detail we require in the hides we use for our floggers - Only The Best!

Servicing your orders

Since we stock a lot of hides we usually don't need to shop for a hide before we can make your order. We don't have to ship floggers back and forth across the country between part-time workers in two or more locations who make them in their spare time. We can put yours into production immediately (assuming we aren't on the road at an event). Whatever hide you want, we most likely have it on hand. We do have some floggers in stock that are ready for immediate shipment, please inquire.

When we balance or weight the flogger, we consider not only static balance, but dynamic balance, as well. Our static balance point is right above the lower knot. Our dynamic balance point is the lower quarter part of the hand grip, about where your forefinger would normally be. This insures a comfortable grip and comfortable ease of use. During our initial design analysis we consulted with a physicist from UCLA to advise us on inertia and balance. His help truly assisted us in developing balance points for special needs like small hands or shoulder injuries and the like.

We have used kangaroo for our handles and knots since 1998. We were the first to import it and offer it to you, the customer, in so many colors, at a decent price. It's 4 times stronger than cow hide, and is the Cadillac of all leathers for braiding. We offer handles done in 12, 16 and 24 plaits, or strands, of braiding. 12 is standard. You can upgrade to a 16-plait design for just $25, and a 24-plait one for $50. If you're going to buy a really special, custom mop or basher, a higher-plait handle really does it justice.

Total handle length of the handles on most floggers is 9 inches, including the pineapple knots on both ends. Big extra-heavy floggers will usually have longer handles due to counterbalancing needs. If you have small hands and want a big, heavy flogger with a small handle, please inquire for details about how that can be specially done for you. Several of our favorite personal floggers are of this type.
